„LIFE Osmo Baltic“ projekto veiklos įgauna pagreitį

Lietuvos zoologijos sode gegužės 11–12 d. įvyko pirmasis šiais metais projekto „LIFE Osmo Baltic“ partnerių susitikimas, kurio dalyviai apžvelgė jau nuveiktus darbus, dalijosi patirtimi ir ieškojo sprendimų kylantiems iššūkiams.

Su partneriais bendradarbiaujame kasdieniuose darbuose, tačiau gyvi susitikimai turi ypatingą vertę: padeda aiškiau suderinti veiksmus, greičiau reaguoti į kylančius klausimus, tiksliau suprasti vieniems kitų situaciją ir iš naujo įsivertinti bendrą projekto kryptį.

Vizito metu dalyviai lankėsi Kauno Ąžuolyno parke, kur sužinojo apie senųjų medžių priežiūrą bei anksčiau įgyvendinto „LIFE Osmoderma“ projekto rezultatus.

Lietuvos zoologijos sode partneriai iš arti susipažino su niūriaspalvių auksavabalių veisimu, dalyvavo edukacinėje programoje „Slaptas niūriaspalvio auksavabalio gyvenimas“ ir išbandė edukacinį maršrutą „Atrask, pažink, išsaugok niūriaspalvį auksavabalį“.

Susitikimo metu taip pat aptarti ir artimiausi darbai. Gegužės mėn. pabaigoje Lietuvos zoologijos sode planuojamas auksavabalio lervų skaičiavimas, o birželio mėn. pradžioje – jų perkėlimas į Metelių regioninį parką.

Sharing good practice from the LIFE Osmo Baltic project at the Lithuanian Zoo

On 11–12 May 2026, the first partner meeting of the LIFE Osmo Baltic project this year took place. On the first day, we reviewed the work already completed, shared experiences, and looked together for solutions to emerging challenges. Although we collaborate with our partners in our day-to-day work, in-person meetings have a special value. They help us align our actions more clearly, respond more quickly to emerging questions, better understand one another’s situations, and reassess the overall direction of the project. This day we also visited Kaunas Oak Park, where we learned about the care of veteran trees and the results of the completed LIFE Osmoderma project.

The second day was dedicated to learning more about the “From Tree to Tree Program” initiative and the results of the activities implemented by the Lithuanian Zoological Garden. During the visit, project partners had the opportunity to take a closer look at the breeding of the hermit beetle, learn about the educational programe “The Secret Life of the Hermit Beetle”, and try the educational route “Discover, Explore, Protect the Hermit Beetle” themselves. During the meeting, we also discussed the upcoming tasks, including preparations for larval counting at the Lithuanian Zoo at the end of May and the planned translocation of the hermit beetle to Meteliai Regional Park in early June.
